Adult Classes

We firmly believe that it's never too late to explore your artistic passions or discover a new creative avenue. That's why we offer a broad range of classes and workshops designed specifically for adults. From painting and pottery to photography and music, our offerings span a diverse spectrum of art forms. These courses, taught by accomplished local artists and educators, cater to various skill levels, whether you are a novice just beginning your artistic journey, or an experienced artist looking to refine your craft. Our workshops provide a dynamic, hands-on learning environment, encouraging participants to engage their creativity, express their ideas, and develop their artistic skills. No matter where you are on your artistic journey, our classes and workshops provide an inclusive, welcoming space to learn, create, and grow. Musical instruments

Music
Lessons: Various Instruments including Suzuki Violin

MIKE KINZIE

CCA Instructor Mike Kinzie is back and ready to provide musical tutoring. Mike plays and teaches a variety of instruments and also teaches Suzuki violin lessons. He has a studio in the basement of the Arts Center and currently has some openings for lessons on Saturdays.

Lessons: Percussion/Drums

JORDAN ALSTON

Jordan Alston is from Goldsboro, NC. He is 26 years old and has been playing drums for approximately 20 years. He grew up playing in the church and has had opportunities of playing and traveling behind his family to minister at local churches. With not having many opportunities at a young age, he took the time to find out what he liked. He began listening to and practicing with different styles of music, like Pop, Country, Indie, R&B, Hip-Hop, etc. While in high school, he was a part of the jazz band “Blue Notes”. Jordan has participated in sessions with Gospel artists: Demarcus Kelly, DOE, Crystal Aikin, and Brian Courtney Wilson.

 

Jordan wants to reach out to all ages, young and old. Those who are looking to find their way on percussion/drums. He would love to share his passion with those who want to know more or to add on to what they love doing.

 

Availability: Tuesday through Fridays

$30 per hour; $100 per week for one-hour session a day

Music Lessons: Guitar

ABIJAH GRAHAM

Abijah Graham is from Fremont, NC and has more than 13 years of experience in guitar playing. As a graduate of the University of Mount Olive, he has had the privilege of touring the U.S. with the renowned acapella group, Carolina Sound. Along with his work as a singer/songwriter, he serves as the worship leader at Bethel Church in Goldsboro, NC.

 

Abijah offers 30-minute guitar lessons for beginners, starting at age 7. Lessons will focus on both practical guitar skills and foundational music theory, designed to help students build their confidence and develop a strong musical foundation.

He looks forward to helping children and adults begin their rewarding musical journey.

 

Availability: Mondays & Thursdays

30 minutes for beginners

$25 per 30 minutes
